Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I order a custom cake?

A lead time of two weeks is recommended for most orders, however I do get booked up quickly and some dates may get full even a month in advance. Rush orders are sometimes possible, there will be an additional cost added for last-minute orders. 

How can I place an order?

Fill out the order form on my website and it will go directly to my email. Or you can email me directly at thecakeconspiracy@gmail.com.  Please include as much information about the desired cake design as possible including reference photos and a description of the event. 

What is your cancellation policy?

I take a 20% non-refundable deposit to secure the date for your cake order. If you need to change the event date you can do that up to one week before with no penalty. I can’t guarantee that I’ll be available on the new date, however. 

How can I pay for my order?

You can pay the invoice directly with a credit card or by e-transfer sent to thecakeconspiracy@gmail.com. 

What are the pick-up and delivery options?

Pickup location: Commercial Street Cafe by appointment only.
Delivery is available for orders over $200. $25 for Vancouver locations, $35 for Richmond, $35 for North Shore. Coquitlam, Langley and Surrey are unfortunately not areas I’m able to deliver to. Please note that if you require delivery on a day that I have a lot of orders it might not be possible but I will do my best to coordinate with you. I am not available for Sunday or Monday deliveries unless otherwise agreed upon for special orders.

Can I change my cake order after it’s been placed?

The order can be changed up to one week before the event date. Any changes in cost can be adjusted on the invoice that will be sent with the amount owing after the deposit is paid. 

How should I store my cake before the event?

Cakes should be kept cool until the start of the event. If the weather is hot this is especially important. Cake pops are very susceptible to hot weather as well and are not recommended during the hot summer months unless you have a cool enough room for the event. Cupcakes are best served when they’ve been allowed to come to room temperature so the cake and icing are nice and soft.

Do you offer cake stands or displays for rent?

I have tiered cupcake stands available for rental. It’s $20 for one stand and $30 for two. Each one is made of white acrylic and can be adjusted to fit up to about 75 regular sized cupcakes. The stands must be returned to my location within one week of the event, no need to wash them as I sanitize them after each use. I don’t have individual cake stands available, those can be sourced from local event rental companies.
